Our Colorado roots

Estes Park. More than a mountain backdrop.

Wild Ambition is proudly headquartered in Colorado. Estes Park brings us close to the landscape we love: granite peaks, alpine lakes, pine forests and the high country of Rocky Mountain National Park. In December, snow and winter light give that landscape another rhythm. The beauty draws us here; the stories give us a deeper connection to the place.

A history beyond the postcard.

Long before the town or national park, these valleys were part of the traditional homelands of Indigenous peoples, including Ute, Arapaho and Cheyenne nations. Their relationship with this land is living history, not only a chapter in the past.

Explore the park's Tribal connections

The women who shaped its story.

In 1873, writer and traveller Isabella Bird visited Estes Park and climbed Longs Peak. Her accounts helped bring the region's wild beauty to readers far beyond Colorado. Hers is one of the women's stories that helps us see this place beyond its scenery.

Read Isabella Bird's story

A town at the edge of the wild.

Rocky Mountain National Park was established in 1915; Estes Park incorporated in 1917. The town's history connects mountain life, exploration and a growing relationship with the surrounding landscape. We want to know the place, not just pass through it.

Who leads the work

The women holding the fire.

Every facilitator is named here, with exactly the background we can stand behind. As the roster grows, so does this list.

Debra Natasha Pogorelsky

Founder · Lead facilitator

After a career across the tech and agency worlds and more than a decade at PepsiCo in commercial leadership, brand strategy and sustainability, Debra built Wild Ambition around the pull she has followed her whole life: a lifetime of rock climbing, hiking, surfing and diving. She reads every inquiry herself, connects with each member 1:1 before they join, and hosts the professional sessions on flagship retreats.

Heather Noska

Facilitator

Founder of Sprout Consulting, where she helps high-growth tech and SaaS companies find the constraints holding them back and build operations that are easier to lead and grow. She holds an MBA and was a multi-sport collegiate athlete.

“I have never had to imagine whether the next rung was possible...I could just look up.”

“Representation alone isn't what got me here. The work did. My choices did. Building a life that could support my career did.”

Proposed itinerary

The rhythm of the retreat.

An outline to discuss with us, not a confirmed schedule. Activity order, timings and arrangements may change; we confirm the itinerary before booking.

  1. Opening

    Arrive at Aspen Falls

A proposed welcome gathering and time to settle into the estate. Arrival arrangements and the daily schedule are still being finalized.

  2. Adventure

Winter days in the high country

Outdoor time around Estes Park, balanced with mindfulness and pause. Routes, equipment and weather plans are to be confirmed.

  3. The work

    Audit and peer board

Working conversations about your career, business or next move, with space for each woman to bring a real decision.

  4. Planning

    Write your 90-day plan

Time to turn the conversations into practical next steps, alongside shared meals and unstructured time.

  5. Closing

    Take the work home

A proposed closing conversation on the decisions and commitments you're carrying forward. Departure timing to be confirmed.

Intimate by Design

Small on purpose.

Every retreat is intentionally small: twelve to seventeen women, depending on the trip. No noise, no strangers' schedules, no performative networking. You get real access, real conversation, and a peer group that will still know your name in five years.

A day on retreat

Every day is different. This is the shape of one.

  1. 5:45am

    Morning light

Coffee before the world wakes up. Optional. Almost everyone comes.

  2. 6:30am

    On the trail

3–6 miles depending on the day. Moderate to challenging. No one gets left behind.

  3. 9:30am

    Breakfast & debrief

Hot food, long table, slow conversation. What moved on the trail stays at the table.

  4. 1:00pm

    Solo time

Unstructured. Journal, nap, walk alone. Some of the best thinking happens here.

  5. 3:00pm

    Small circle sessions

Groups of 4–6. Facilitated conversation on what's next and what's in the way.

  6. 7:00pm

    Fire & dinner

The session that never ends on schedule. This is where it gets honest.

Leave it wilder

The wild gives us a lot. We owe it back.

The places that change us are worth protecting. We travel light, treat the land and the people on it with respect, and want every place we visit to be better for our having been there.

Leave No Trace

We follow Leave No Trace on every trail, beach and river. What we carry in, we carry out.

Local hands

We work with local guides, cooks and businesses wherever we go, so the money a retreat brings stays with the people who live there.

Give back

Each retreat gives something back to the place that hosts us. We share the details with each group before the trip.

The women of the place

We go deep into the fabric of every place we visit - learning about the women who built it or had a big part in shaping it. Their stories are part of the trip.
